Cartographie des zones à risques d’inondation, cas de la retenue d’eau du barrage de Lom-Pangar (Est-Cameroun): Mapping of flood risk areas, case of the Lom-Pangar water-retention dam (East Cameroon)

Description du sujet. Plusieurs études ont étés menées dans le monde pour prédire les inondations par le biais des SIG (Systèmes d'Information Géographique). Au Cameroun, les zones à risque d’inondations situées en aval du barrage de retenue de Lom Pangar ont étés cartographiées afin d’avoir une idée sur leur étendue et la vulnérabilité des populations de ces zones.Objectif. L’étude a consisté à dresser une carte présentant les zones à risque d’inondation dans les alentours de la retenue, de la tête du barrage jusqu’au village Goyoum (Bélabo) aux alentours de la Sanaga et proposer un plan de contingence.Méthodes. Une campagne d’étude a été effectuée au cours de la période allant du 15 mars au 30 Juin 2019. Les paramètres permettant la cartographie de ces zones tels que la pédologie, la topographie, l’hydrographie et l’occupation des sols ont été obtenus par diverses méthodes (photogrammétrie, télédétection, mesures usuelles sur le terrain, documentation et numérisation des documents).Résultats. La carte topographique a présenté trois différentes zones en fonction des pentes, la carte pédologique a montré trois différents types de sols dans la zone d’étude, la carte d’occupation des sols a montré que plus d’une centaine d’habitants vivent dans des zones à risque élevé d’inondation, la carte pluviométrique a montré trois zones de précipitations dans la zone d’étude. Il a été trouvé que 109 km² des zones présentent un fort risque d’inondation, 434 km² dans la zone d’étude sont à risque moyen d’inondation, et que 445 km² de ces zones sont soumises à un risque faible d’inondationConclusion. Les populations vivant en aval du barrage de Lom-Pangar jusqu’à Goyoum sont soumises à un risque d’inondation. Description of the subject. Several studies have been carried out around the world to predict floods using GIS (Geographic Information Systems). In Cameroon, flood risk areas located downstream of the Lom Pangar dam were mapped to get an idea of their extent and the vulnerability of the populations in these areasObjective. The study consisted of drawing up a map presenting the areas at risk of flooding in the surroundings of the reservoir, from the head of the dam to the village Goyoum (Bélabo) around the Sanaga and proposing a contingency plan.Methods. A study campaign was carried out during the period from March 15 to June 30, 2019. The parameters for mapping these areas such as pedology, topography, hydrography and land use were obtained by various methods (photogrammetry, remote sensing, standard field measurements, documentation and digitization of documents).Results. The topographic map presented three different areas according to slope, the soil map showed three different soil types in the study area, the land use map showed that more than a hundred inhabitants live in areas at high risk of flooding, the rainfall map showed three rainfall zones in the study area. It was found that 109 km² of the areas were high flood risk, 434 km² in the study area were at medium flood risk, and 445 km² of these areas were at low flood risk.Conclusion. Populations living downstream of the Lom-Pangar dam up to Goyoum are subject to a risk of flooding.
