French. Le droit d'accès à l'information environnementale est l'un des piliers du modèle démocratique. Il contribue à l'amélioration de la performance de l'action publique en favorisant l'engagement des États envers les principes de gouvernance environnementale. Ce droit a pour finalité d'encourager la participation du public dans la prise de décisions environnementales. Conscient de l'importance de ce droit, le législateur marocain l'a doté de nombreuses garanties, au premier rang desquelles figure la garantie constitutionnelle. Cependant, ces garanties perdent de leur importance si elles ne sont pas conformes aux normes internationales pertinentes en matière de droit d'accès à l'information environnementale. Il en découle donc la nécessité d'analyser l'arsenal juridique marocain régissant l'application de ce droit, afin de déterminer dans quelle mesure le législateur marocain a réussi à garantir un exercice adéquat du droit d'accès à l'information environnementale, tout en conciliant les garanties et les restrictions prévues pour son exercice.

English. The right to access environmental information is a cornerstone of the democratic model. It enhances the performance of public action by promoting states' commitment to the principles of environmental governance. This right aims to encourage public participation in environmental decision-making. Aware of the importance of this right, the Moroccan legislator has endowed it with numerous guarantees, foremost among which is the constitutional guarantee. However, these guarantees lose their significance if they do not conform to relevant international standards regarding the right to access environmental information. This leads to the necessity of analyzing the Moroccan legal arsenal governing the implementation of this right, to determine the extent to which the Moroccan legislator has succeeded in ensuring an adequate exercise of the right to access environmental information, while reconciling the guarantees and restrictions provided for its exercise.
