Day changes in haematocrite and the number of leukocytes in cattle

In 20 adult animals the number of leukocyte, lymphocytes and haematocrite of venous blood was being determined 5 times a day, i. e. at 22.00, 5.00, 11.00, 15.00 and 19.00. The findings indicated that within a day the number of leukocytes and lymphocytes fluctuated independenty on the degree of watering of an animal. The changes of that type were different in normal animals than those in cows with cells within a day may influence the results of interpretation of haematological examinations used as an indicator of infection.
