In the relief of the Madrid region an arcose stretch is distinguished upon which a representative soil is studied, analysing the formation processes of it. After describing the morphology, the difficulty to justify the significance of those soils has been discussed, because inherit part of the characteristics of the rock. Not all the clay mobilized from the superior horizons has been accumulated in the deeper ones, but has been carried out of the profile. The great part of the clay of the Bt horizons proceeds via transformation "in situ" from micas; inherit and neoformation are also present
