Response of maize to nitrogen fertilizer and planting date (in Iraq)

This study was carried out in spring and autumn season of 1983, to study the effect of planting dates, nitrogen levels and their interaction on yield, yield components and other agronomic traits of corn (Zea mays L.). Dates of planting (10,30 March, 14,28 April, 1,15,30 July) were used as main plots, nitrogen level (0.60,120,180 kg N/ha) as sub plots. Planting dates 10 March and 30 July, gave the highest grain yield. And fertilizing with 180 kg N/ha increased grain yield
