A study on the effect of Fasciola gigantica in sheep and goats (in Iraq)

This experiment was initiated to study the response of goats to primary infection with 10 metacercarea/kg body weight of Fasciola gigantica and to compare this experiment with sheep. Some of the results are as follows: Anaemia was more severe in goats than in sheep, increase in total protein in both, goats and sheep, serum glutamic oxalacetic transaminase (S.G.O.T.) levels were elevated in both species. It may be concluded from this study that goats are relatively more resistant than sheep to Fasciola gigantica infection
