This is a study on the possible effect of soil moisture contenton the growth and development of Melia azedarach of Huay Rabam origin under both plantation and controlled conditions. Results indicated that M. azedarach required optimum moisture contenet for bud development, total leaf area, chlorophyll content and normal development. Flooding and water deficit affected plant growth and eventually reduced the biomass productivity in most plant parts as well as the root/shoot ratio.
