Occurrence of the corn borer Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee) on cotton in the Philippines

The pest was observed at the onset of square formation up to boll maturation. The insect attacks stems, petioles and developing bolls, and has a characteristic boring habit similar to that observed in corn. Larval and adult descriptions, and characteristic damage are presented
