Serological blockage of rice tungro virus complex transmissions by Nephotettix virescens (Philippines)

The results showed that serological blocking of RTBV/RTSV transmission by GLH was effective for selective transmission of either virus. This is significant as far as testing varieties for resistance to RTBV since it can not be transmitted from plants infected with RTBV alone. Furthermore, the study showed that RTSV need not be infective in order to help in RTBV transmission or RTSV itself may not be the helper component for RTBV transmission
