Nitrogen remain the most limiting in most the long-term fertility trials even after 8 to 15 seasons of fertilization. Application of NP or NK tend to show additional response over N alone suggesting that the other 2 nutrients may also be limiting. Future activities of INSFER is discussed with emphasis on site characterization, testing of new products such as partially acidulated phosphate rock (PAPR), fertilizer efficiency trials under rainfed upland and drought prone rainfed lowland rice and economic evaluation of fertilizer products and management systems
