Carbohydrate and nitrogen levels during root formation in stem cuttings of kiwi (Actinidia chinensis Planch.) var. Bruno
1981
Thawatchai Chinnawong
The results showed that only treated softwood and hardwood cuttings with IBA 6,000 ppm had root appearance during the period from 30th-35th days after cuttings, while the untreated ones did not show the root appearance but had only callus formation even after it was left in the propagating beds for 65 days. The number of roots in the cuttings was very few, only 2-5 roots which may result in the unsuccessful transplant of the rooted cuttings. Chemical analysis showed that reducing sugar, TNC and TN contents were significantly different in the IBA treated and untreated basal ends in both softwood sand hardwood cuttings
