Effects of the different drought period and length on the growth and yield of rice Oryza sativa L.

During the drought before heading, growth and heading date were delayed, and yield and yield components were decreased by the increased drought period when close to the heading date. During the drought after heading, the number of the fresh leaf decreased significantly when drought treatments were conducted. Ratio of ripened grain and unhulled rice yield decreased when the drought length increased or the desiccated period was close to the heading
