A study on the reduced cold damage of rice plant at paddy field irrigated with cold water

This study was carried out to reduce cold damage on rice plant at the paddy field irrigated with cold water by irrigation patterns and P application method. The 50m round irrigation was effective to rise water temperature, increased number of panicles/hill and improved impregnation ratio. The grain yield in this plot was 48% and 36% higher than that in the direct irrigation for the varieties of the Taebaegbyeo and Jinjubyeo, respectively. Additional P application from 30 days after transplanting to ear forming stage showed increase of grain yield of 11-14 percent as compared with basal application with whole amount and basal application with 50 percent increase of whole amount
