Growth and survial of Thai-native frog tadpole fed with different levels of protein diets

The experiment was conducted to determine the effects of different protein levels diets on growth and survival of the Thai-native frog tadpoles in concentrate ponds. The protein levels in the feed were 13, 15, 20, 25 and 30%. The highest survival rates of the tadpoles were found in ponds fed rice bran (13% protein content) with in the first 2 weeks of experiments and slightly better survival rates were found in pounds fed different protein levels diets (15-30%). The metamorphosis period of the frog tadpoles in all treatments was 42 +- 7 days. There were no significant differences in growth rate among the tadpoles fed the 5 levels of protein diet, nor in metamorphosis period among the 5 treatments
