Flood injury in the maturing period of barley was investigated as soil to be fully saturated with excess of water (water-logging treatment) or as whole plant and soil to be put under muddy water (submerging treatment) to get basic data for estimation of crop reduction from the unexpected flood disaster. Main hazard of water-logging treatment was great decrease in the weight of 1,000 grains and in number of grains per spike while that of submerging treatment was only decrease in the number of grains per spike
