The purpose of this thesis is to study and evaluate the production and marketing situation of the garlic farmers in Amphoe Sarapee, Changwat Chieng Mai, North of Thailand. The farmers' attitudes toward cooperatives or group marketing are also collected for an assessment of the feasibility for organising the Garlic Growers' Cooperatives estimates and Chi-squares tests are carried out for assessment of the feasibility of organizing cooperatives among garlic farmers.%in the area. estimates and Chi-squares tests are carried out for assessment of the feasibility of organising cooperatives among garlic farmers. The factors relating to the farmers' need for cooperatives organization such as farmers' education, cultivating experiences, planting areas, credit requirement, marketing and information services, buying services of production inputs and farmers' attitude toward cooperatives, are included in the analysis. Of thirteen hypotheses formulated, eleven confirm the significant relationship between the farmers' need of cooperatives and related factors, meaning that cooperatives organization is a great need of the garlic farmers. There is a great potential and feasibility for organizing the garlic growers' cooperatives in Amphoe Sarapee, Changwat Chieng Mai
