Towards an integrated framework in land and natural resource economics

This paper briefly sketches the historical development of land Economics in the 1920s until its evolution into Natural Resource Economics in the post-World War II period. A synthesis of the various schools of thought that have influenced its development is given. It concludes that a merging of land and natural resource economics will mark a new era in the teaching of natural economics
