Coccidiosis of chicken cause significant economic losses especially in broiler and pullet growers. Losses due to mortality and growth retardation following a severe outbreak may be devastating in field. The aims of this study were designed to follow the incidence of coccidiosis in domestic broiler chicken raised in 8 provinces. An attempt was also made to differentiate and characterize the field isolates of coccidia judging from their morphological and biological features. When a total of 5,390 broiler from 321 flocks were examined for coccidiosis, positive diagnosis was made on 1,552 individuals (28,8%) and on 241 flocks (75,1%), respectively
