This study was to investigate the effect of peptide on cAMP level in corn endosperm. Activities of corn endosperm adenylate cyclase and phosphodiesterase were found right after germination, and phosphodiesterase activity was shown to increase steadily. Protease activity was also found. Corn peptide fraction purified by using Sephadex G-25 column was shown to enhance corn phosphodiesterase activity but inhibit bovine phosphodiesterase activity
