The morphological characters, yields and diseases and pest reaction of 12 Bangladesh elite brinjal varieties were studied. The varieties were Islampuri, Singnath, Muktakeshi-R, Muktakeshi-L, Khotkhotia-R, Khotkhotia-L, Nyankazal, Baromashi white Jhumka, Bhangar, DRC and Japani. Shingnath, Japani, Islampuri, Nayankazal were tall and errect and Baromashi and Bhangar were dwarf and bushy. Shingnath, Muktakeshi and Nayankazal produced flowers much earlier than the other varieties. Islampuri, Baromashi, Khotkhotia, Bhangar, White-Jhumka, Japani and Muktakeshi-R produced round to ovalshaped fruits but Shingnath, Muktakeshi-L, Khotkhotia-L, Nayankazal and DRC had long fruits. The big fruit varieties were Bhangar, Baromashi, and Islampuri while others produced small fruits. Fruit yield was found to be depended on fruit size and number of fruits per plant. Borer infestation of both shoot and fruit was heavy in all the varieties and nematode infestation was minimum in variety, Bhangar
