An investigation on the edible fruits of Bangladesh forests

The paper reports on 59 fruits of Bangladesh forest areas are fit for human consumption. They are described by their botanical names, families, common names, distribution description of fruits and ripening times. Suggestions are made to improve the quality (variety) of wild fruits through domestication, hybridization, and grafting. Chemical analysis is recommended to know their food values and other economic properties. Attempts should be made to protect the edible fruit species in the vanishing natural forests, as well as exploring ways to improve their preservation and for proper marketing.
