A study of the fluoride ion content in the drinking waters of Tenerife Island is made by means of the indirect colorimetry with the Zirconium-SPADNS complex, recommended by the World Health Organization. As a result it is concluded that the waters that have a higher fluoride content are those of the La Guancha municipality which reach 8 ppm. In this community a dental endemic fluorosis is present
