Studies on integrated control of ergot (claviceps fusiformis loveless) in pearl millet has shown that crop sown before 25th July escaped the infection. Later plantings have increased incidence of ergot. Disease intensity and yield were found to increase with higher doses of nitrogen whereas higher dose of potash reduced it and counteracted the effect of high nitrogen and phosphorus doses. Increase in phosphorus doses recorded higher disease only in field trial
