Chemical weed control in banana

Number of weeds per sqm at shooting of banana was compared with number of weeds before the herbicides application. All the post-emergence herbicides (table) effectively controlled nutgrass (70 to 90%) and other weeds (89.0 to 93.2%). Post-emergence application of 3 blanket and 2 spot sprays of ansar-529 at 4.01/ha alternated with 2 blanket and 2 spot sprays of gramoxone at 1.01/ha per spray gave excellent weed control
