Integrated biocontrol of Sclerotium rolfsii with nitrogenous fertilizers and Trichoderma harzianum
1985
Matti, D. | Sen, C. (Bidhan Chandra Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Kalyani (India))
Improvement in the efficacy of controlling Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. was sought through the use of a combination of nitrogenous fertilizers and an antagonistic isolate of Trichoderma harzianum Rifai. Urea reduced the viability of sclerotia to some extent but not calcium ammonium nitrate. When T. harzianum was added to soil on a wheat-bran formulation, it reduced the viability of sclerotia in the soil. The effects became additive when urea was combined with T. harzianum. Calcium ammonium nitrate + trichoderma was most effective in reducing the stem-blight of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea Linn.) caused by this pathogen
