Variability and yield relationship in rainfed sorghum

The extent of environmental variability in certain morphological and yield components and their relationship with grain yield of CSH 6 sorghum indicated normal distribution of panicle girth and length while stem diameter, height and yield components exhibited skewed distribution. Grain number followed by 100 grain weight independently contributed to yield. Additional yield between 150,000 and 180,000 plants per ha was only 4% while the population increase was 20%
