The reduction in dry matter accumulation with delayed sowing resulted in reduction in seed yield. Uptake of nutrients was more closely related with the changes in dry weight of the plants. Vegetative growth was reduced by delayed sowing, however, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content of plant did not show any relationship with the reduced vegetative growth
