Nutritive value of aquatic weed, Spirodela polyrhiza (Linn.) in grass carp

The aquatic weed, Spirodela polyrhiza (Linn.), offered ad lib. to grass carp, Ctenopharyngodon idella (Val) in two stages of developement provided a digestible drymatter intake of 117.4 and 430.4 mg, digestible protein of 21 and 81 mg, and digestible energy (DE) of 2.02 and 1.92 Kcal/g in fingerlings and adult stages respectively. The protein efficiency ratio (PER) of 2.33 and 2.36 and feed efficiency (FE) of 3.15 and 3.10 were recorded in fingerling and adult grass carps respectively
