Utilization of fertilizer phosphorus by soybean as influenced by phosphorus fertilization in deep black soils of Madhya Pradesh [India]

Studies were carried out in a greenhouse trial to evaluate the effect of phosphatic fertilization on yield, uptake and utilization of fertilizer phosphorus by soybean and also on 'A' value of phosphorus in soil. Phosphorus had a stimulatory influence on crop yield, total P uptake, P derived from fertilizer as well as 'A' value of P in soil, while utilization of phosphorus showed reverse trend. Eighty kg P2O5/ha gave highest yield, uptake and 'A' value. Amongst the varieties JS-2 was best
