Effect of lime and compost application at vinyl mulching on sesame yield

This experiment was conducted in the field to find out the effect of lime and compost application on sesame with and without vinyl mulching. The soil used was sandy loam and the content of available phosphorus in soil was high, but pH, organic matter and exchangeable Ca, Mg were low. The yield of sesame was higher with vinyl mulching than conventional condition, and the effect of lime and compost application was obvious in increasing the yield. The yield of sesame in the treatment with vinyl mulching showed high positive correlation with not only uptake amounts of phosphorus and calcium in plant but also pH and exchangeable Ca in soil at the harvesting stage
