Salinomycin, peat preparation, sodium monensin were used in concentrated mixtures of starter type at shortened period of giving the calves the milk to drink. Putting salinomycin into concentrated mixture increased food intake by 10 kg. Addition of peat preparation decreased food intake by 20 kg in relation to the control group. The use of all additives increased the daily weight gains of calves
