Sodium-, potassium-, and ammonium perchlorate was used as the thyrostatic factors and their effects on performance of chickens fed on standard diet or low-protein diet was investigated. Results of experiment had shown that NaClO4 used as dietary supplement increased weight gain of male chickens and improved feed conversion in chickens of both sexes fed on standard feedmixture. Results suggest that efficiency of perchlorate depends on the type of diet and sex of chickens. Perchlorate supplementation increased a weight of thyroid gland and decreased a basal metabolic rate of chickens
