The primiparous cows were kept in the littered cowhouse with short stands or in the litterless cowhouse with stand lined with rubber mats. The milk performance and fat content were slightly higher in cows kept in the litterless cowhouse. The health state of cows was however much better in the littered cowhouse, particularly as concerns udder and limbs health
