Relationships between exterior and milking capacity of four-breed heifer crosses and Lowland Black Pied heifers

Milking capacity in relation to exterior traits in Black Pied breed and four-breed crosses cows was studied. Crossbreds of a larger growth, better developed chest and smaller bones produced more milk of a better composition than smaller ones but more bony. In Black-Pied heifers there was a small and insignificant relationship between exterior characters and milk yield and between milk yield and milk components. There was a significant negative dependence between the milk yield of the crossbreds and dry matter and fat content of milk
