Reaction of spring barley strains to higher nitrogen fertilization

The analyses of variance showed considerable reaction of the strains to environmental conditions in all years of the experiments. The influence of nitrogen on grain yield and lodging resistance was not significant but there was a significant influence of nitrogen on the total protein content in strains. The control varieties and best strains reacted similarly with the yield increments to different nitrogen fertilization levels
