Nutritive value of leaf protein concentrates from potato haulms

The yield of extraction ranged from 0.8 to 2.7 kg of concentrates from 100 kg of potato haulms. The protein content ranged from 35 to 44%. Fiber content was lower than 1% but all concentrates were abundant in ash. The amount of amino acids was similar in all proteins, but their biological values for rats were different. Biological value of the best proteins was almost as good as that of soya bean meal but their digestibility was significantly lower
