Influence of soil, charcoal and lime on the degradation of phosphate in [the Sinn-Thai] detergent solution

The studies on changes of phosphate, pH DO and BOD quantities in the solution of the Sinn-Thai detergent containing blocks of soil, charcoal and lime contents, compared with the same solution containing no other materials, at the concentration levels of 0.5, 1.5 and 10 ppm, indicated that the phosphate quantity in the solution of every level of concentration value does not exceed the given value. The values of 5 and 10 ppm concentration increased in the first day and of the charcoal has gradually decreased to the given rate on the 15th day of experiment, but of the soil content the value is still higher than the given standard value. Of the lime content, every level of concentration value is below the given standard value throughout 15 days of experimentation. The lime block shows more alkalinity and acidity. The DO value, greatest at 10 ppm concentration level has plenty of aquatic plants and the BOD value shows very small value under every level of concentration. The comparison of soil, charcoal and lime characteristics in control of phosphate quantity in the detergent solution within 15 days indicated that lime is more effective than soil and charcoal, but the pH value is increased
