The investigations were conducted at 2 swine Swedish Landrace farms. In the first, experimental group (EG), just after farrowing and latest 6-18 hours post partum, the sows got i.m. 5ml of oxymetrin. In the 2nd EG sows got after farrowing intrauterine 150 ml of 2% lotagen; after 6-18 hours they got i.m. 5 ml of oxymetrin. In the 3rd EG sows got 20 ml of tetracyclin (1000 mg) just before or at the beginning of partus; after parturition got intrauterine 150 ml of 2% lotagen. The 4 th EG was a controlling group (without treatment). Sows treated only by oxymetrin had the greatest number of alive pigs in a farrow and the biggest index of fertility. It was attributed partially to a faster normalization of endometrium after treatment with oxymetrin and because of that the percentage of embrional death was less. The application of oxymetrin uterotonic post partum in the dose of 5 ml i.m. speeded up and normalized the uterine involution which characterized in less percentage of puerperal disturbances, faster estrous appearance, greater percentage of conception from the 1st insemination and greater number of alive pigs in a farrow and at last, the higher index of sow fertility.
