The study of feeding young bulls and cows lasted two years and was performed in production conditions at seven different farms. The study encompassed a total of 34.929 animals from which 19.532 were young bulls and 15.397 were heifers. The average age of the animals at the beginning of fattening was 6 and at the end of 11 months. The animals belonged to the Yugoslav Siementhaler breed. Two types of fodder were analysed: those with less than 7% of crude celuloid fiber in dry matter and fodder with more than 7% of crude celluloid fiber in dry matter. Corn fodder content in the meal with less than 7% of crude celluloid fiber was approximately 12,9%, and in those with more than 7% of crude celluloid fibre it was approximately 31,2%. The results acquired indicate that in fattening of the young bulls there were no differences in food conversions and daily weight gain between the analysed meals.
