1985
Ayub, A. | Ahmed, H.U.
Five fungicides, Duter (0.2%), Cuman-L (0.1%), Tri-miltox forte (0.2%), Benlate (0.05%) and Dithane M-45 (0.2%) were tested for efficacy of control of Alternaria brassicae, causal agent of mustard leaf spot, at Joydebpur, Bangladesh during Rabi season (1983-84) using mustard variety SS-75. Initially plants were sprayed at 40, 50 and 60 days after emergence and two times at an interval of 15 days thereafter for a total of 3 applications. Disease incidence was evaluated 7 days before and after each application and graded using a 0-8 rating scale. Results were that all the fungicides except Benlate were effective in controlling the disease, with Duter as the best followed by Tri-miltox forte, Dithane M-45 and Cuman-L. Disease control was maximum when applications were initiated at 40 days after emergence. Highest yield was obtained from Duter-treated plots.
