Efficiency of nitrogen in TS-72 cullivar of mustard (Brassica campestris) [in Bangladesh]
1986
Ali, Md. Hazrat | Rahman, A.M.M.D.
An experiment was conducted at Bangladesh Agricultural Institute, Dhaka in dry season. Maximum number of primary branches per plant, number of siliqua per plant, seed weight per plant and the total seed yield per plot were produced by 60 kg N/ha but maximum plant height was obtained from 160 kg N/ha. A progressive increase of plant height was remarkably marked by the increase of N/ha. Other than this treatment the availability of nitrogen was less to the plants due to the shortage of supply, and misuse of nitrogen when supply was in excess as per treatments. The vegetative growth was also pronounced due to the excess supply of nitrogen giving rise to less number of siliqua. The response of nitrogen to all other characters of the plant was found to be more effective in 60 kg N/ha. Maximum seed yield (1,033 t/ha) was obtained from 60 kg N/ha
