Salivary glands of Hyalomma marginatum isaaci [Ticks]
1987
Kamble, C.K. (Karnataka Univ., Dharwad (India))
The ticks (Hyalomma marginatum isaaci) were collected from buffaloes and cattle in Dharwad area. The 'B' alveoli consisted of 3 types of granular cells and only the first type cell secrete the attachment cement and others glyco-proteins and probably enzymes. The most likely functions of the non-granular epithelial cells and those of type 'A' are in osmoregulation (Balashov, 1965; Roshdy, 1972)
