1986
Youn, J.T. | Chung, G.C. (Kyongbuk Provincial Rural Development Administration, Taegu (Korea R.))
This study was conducted to investigate the infection time, infected rate of BSDV according to the seeding date and the effect on the growth and yield of corn by infection degree of BSDV. The main infection period of BSDV was assumed the early growth stage which was during for 30 days after emergence of corn. In the southern area, Korea, the most effective seeding date in reducing infected rate was recognized on May. 5 due to the infection rate was 52 % at that time, however in the other seeding dates, it was very high from 56 % to 93 %. When the corn plant was infected by BSDV, plant height was stunted 23.7 - 68.6 %, further the kernels yield was much decreased at the severest infection degree of BSDV
