Varietal differences in dry matter production and agronomic characters of rice (Oryza sativa L.)
1985
Kim, B.H. (Kyongnam Provincial Rural Development Administration, Chinju (Korea R.))
In order to evaluate the characteristics of indica x japonica cultivars in terms of dry matter (DM) production and its distribution in sward canopy, nine cultivars representing each varietal group such as japonica, indica x japonica and indica were selected to be tested in field experiments in Chinju. From the cultivars, four cultivars representing japonica and indica x japonica which were most common cultivars in Korea were grown under five different transplanting dates. The characteristics of dry matter production and its distribution in the sward canopy were made through the analysis of crop growth rate (CGR), relative growth rate (RGR), net assimilation rate (NAR) and leaf area ratio (LAR)
