Effects of cold storage of seed bulbs and light break treatment on top growth, bulbing, and secondary growth of garlic cv. Sanghai early were investigated. The cold storage of seed bulbs resulted in the greatest number of alive green leaves at maximum growth stage in the middle of April but less leaf number at maturity in May. Leaf blade, sheath lengths, and plant heights markedly increased, and plants matured earlier as the cold storage period increased
