Content of tannins and aucuboside in Hebra Euphrasiae from southern Poland [Euphrasia rostkoviana Hayne]

The crude drug was collected from 61 localites within 1977-81. The content of tannins ranged from 3.12 to 10.78% whereas the content of aucuboside was an analytical procedure dependent within the limits 0.40 - 2.40%. The Trim and Hill's procedure appeared to be the method of choice for determination of aucuboside. The results indicate the crude drug should be collected on flowering in localities exposed to sun's rays. A significant humidification of the ground influenced negatively the contents of tannins and aucuboside in the crude drug
