Both isoenzyme electrophoresis (IEEP) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) can be used to identify preys of insect predators. Unknown feeding relationships can be qualitatively identified among several possible trophic links in the field and any chosen connection can be studied in more details using ELISA. To show the suitability of IEEP corn borer proteins were detected by IEEP from the carabids Agonum dorsale, Brachinus explodens and Pterostichus cupreus
