[Comparison of body measurements and milk performance of Polish Black-and-White cows and their crossbreds with Holstein-Friesian cows in three subsequent lactations]

A comparison of dairy performance, fertility, culling rate, body measurements and body weight of Polish Black-and-White (cb) and cb x Holstein-Friesian (hf) crossbred cows was made. Depending on lactation the crossbred cows yielded by 16-30% milk more than cb cows. The content of fat in milk was lower by 0.04-0.13%. Crossbreds reached the age of the first calving earlier and their third lactation terminated 37-41 days earlier. The fertility in both groups was similar. The crossbred cows were bigger and heavier but narrower at rump than the cb cows
