Serum contents of calcium, inorganic phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase in sheep with leg deformations

A significant increase in serum content of inorganic phosphorus and activity of alkaline phosphatase was found in 9-month-old sheep affected with leg deformations. The deformations were associated with a high supply of dietary phosphorus and, as a consequence, inappropriate Ca:P ratio. No relationship was noted between the intensity of the deformations and alterations in the biochemical values
