Effect of fodder preservation by calcium propionate and ammonium propionate on the productivity of broiler chickens

The chicken fed on mixtures containing maize and wheat grains, treated with ammonium propionate had by 4.2 - 6.6% smaller growth rate till 28 days of age. The authors had not observed such negative influence of ammonium propionate on the growth of chickens fattened from 29 till 56 days of age. The influence of the applied preservativees on slaughter performance and on the contents of essential components of meat, liver and blood serum was stated
